THE INTERIOR JOURNAL, May 3, 2001 Page 7 II COMMUNITY News from Kings Moutain Pioneer Playhouse opens its 52nd season June 1 6 r. TV at the Lapin written by comedianactor Steve Martin. The final play is "Ghost of a about a macho ghost and his widow. Plays will be presented rain or shine Tuesday-Saturday nights. Deaf signing is available the second Wednesday of each play.

Dinner begins at 7:30. Show time is 8:30. A reserved seat for dinner and show is $20, $12 for show only. Patrons passes are available for $65. Some limited group discounts are also available.

For reservations or questions, please call (859) 236-2747. The Pioneer-Playhouse in Danville will open its 52nd season Saturday, June 16. Five plays are on the scheduled for this summer. The opening play, Beth Henley's "Impossible, is a "brisk and perky new says The New York Post, where everyone including the Reverend is out to sabotage the bride's special day. "Impossible Marriage" will run June 16-30.

Other plays this summer include "Killing written by local playwright Jan Henson Dow, Neil Simon's and "Picasso 3 'i) Need In-Home Care? They took Magdalene and her sister, Pearl Short, to Kentucky Depot Restaurant for supper. They visited Donald's sister-in-law, Marcella Spangler, of Oak Ridge while in TN. Eighty-nine year old Mattie Adams proudly report two new great great grandchildren bringing her total to 13.

Chase Christian Nestra was bora to his parents, James and Latitia Nestra in Ft. Myers, FL. His grandparents are Bill and Pam Phillippe, FL. Alexis Bree Phillippe was bom to her parents, Brandon and Tonya Phillippe, of Liberty. Her grandparents are Mack and Fredia Phillippe, Kings Mountain.

Great grandparents are David and Pam Phillippe, Russell Springs, and Mike and Nancy Meece, Liberty. Mrs. Karen Ware got a surprise Wednesday afternoon while working on the area around the christian church fellowship hall grounds. She noticed a couple walking around the church building with camera in hand. Going up to investigate, she found it was Bro.

Charles W. Bare and his wife, Mae, of Miami, FL. Bro. Bare was minister of the church in 1947. He was then a divinity sh dent at Lexington's School of the Bible and came down weekends with his wife and little son, Phillip, to pastor the church.

We are happy to report that Wayne Snow, who underwent surgery at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center Monday morning of this week, came home Tuesday and is doing fine. He will be restricted in his outdoor activities for some time, which will go hard with him being the outdoor person he is. by Julia Ann Peterson Sunday was a wonderful day-long celebration at the Kings Mountain Church of the Nazarene. There was, besides the regular service, a long-planned community singing, a celebration of Darrell Young's birthday and a bountiful fellowshipbirthday dinner. Darrell, with his family, attended the church as a youth.

His wife Frieda was the daughter of the pastor, Bro. L.E. Horton (1956). Darrell came with family members from Palmyra and Nashville, TN, to celebrate his special day. He was joined by his sister, Janice Green, and her husband, Royal, from Corbin.

The gospel singing drew a large crowd. Participants were the Kings Mountain United Methodist Church, Locust Grove Baptist Church and Kings Mountain Christian Church. The Darrell Young family singers were Larry and Patty Young's daughter and granddaughter, Lisa and Heather Young, and Trudy Adams. It was truly a community singing and those present gave a glowing repone of the program. Sunday evenipg beginning at 6:00 p.m., the Kings Mountain Christian Church hosted a 5th Sunday Singspiration for area Christian Churches.

The program was attended by a large enthusiastic crowd. Churches participating in the gospel singing were: Calvary Hill Baptist Church at Stanford, McKinney Christian Church, Turnersville Christian Church, Green River Christian Church, Mt. Moriah Christian Church and Kings Mountain host church. Refreshments were served in the fellowship hall at the close of the service, Mrs. Grace Lundy of Black Mountain, KY, spent the weekend with Mr.

and Mrs. Wayne Snow. She was born April 24, 1901 to the late Steve and Nettie Rice. She has one brother, Edward Rice, who lives in Junction City; three grandsons; and two granddaughters. Nora had three children, and Ray Moore and Jeanetta Roberts, who are deceased. Three brothers, Chester, Victor and Hart Rice and two Bessie Crowdus Meece and Minnie Wyatt Subscribe to The Interior Journal $15.50 per year (in state) $29.75 per year (out of state) are also deceased.
