Ona Smith Ona Smith, 84, of 13745 U.S. Hwy. 27 South in Waynesburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 3 at her home. A native of Casey she was born July 16, 1917 to the late Arthur and Ada Frances Stephens Foley.

She was a retired cook for the Waynesburg Elementary School for 22 years, a member of Eastern Star and a. member of Double. Springs Baptist Church since 1954. She was active in the senior citizens group, was a former volunteer for the Waynesburg Area Rescue Squad and Waynesburg Ruritan Club, and well known for her kind spirit and her cooking. 6 at the Fort Logan Hospital emergency room. A native of Lincoln he was born April 30, 1940 to the late Bill Durham and Verda Mae Popplewell Durham. He was a farmer, Army veteran, former mechanic for Owens Chevrolet, a member of the Baptist faith, and the widower of Nora Joan Durham. He was also preceded in death by a son, David Durham and a sister, Marion "Pappy" Durham Gweneva Smallwood. Survivors include one son, Marion Ray Durham of Stanford; one daughter, Jennifer Yocum of Waynesburg; one brother, Robert Durham of Highland; one sister, Jacqueline Foley of Waynesburg; and one grandson, Weston Tyler Yocum.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 10 at the Barnett and Demrow Funeral Home with Bro. Brad King officiating. Burial was in the Double Springs Cemetery. Robert "Bob" J.

Hicks Robert 69, of Stanford, formerly of Indianapolis, died Saturday, Oct. 6 at' the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville. A native of Indianapolis, he was born March 19, 1932 to the late Buford Hicks and Anna H. Davis Hicks. He was a graduate of Washington High School in Indianapolis in 1951, a veteran of the Korean War, and member of St.

Michaels Catholic Church in Greenfield, IN. He worked for Allisons Transmission, Purolator and Temple Trucking of Indianapolis, and Krogers before retiring in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A. Rich Hicks; four sons, Rick M. and Steve Hicks both of Greenfield, Joe A.

Hicks of Seabrook, and Brad Hicks, of Indianapolis, four daughters, Debra S. Rigney of Stanford, Cristine M. McCall of Indianapolis, and Michelle Swearingin and Paula A. Hicks both of Greenfield, two brothers, Arthur E. Hicks of Lafayette, and Kenneth Hicks of West Concord, 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A 2 p.m. mass was held at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Greenfield on Wednesday, Oct. 10. with Father J.

Riedman officiating. A rosary service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Erlewein Morturary. Burial was in the Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN. Harrison Pike, Jr.

Harrison Pike, 62, of Rice Lane, Stanford, died Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford. A native of Corbin, he was born June 12. 1939 to the late Charles Frank Pike and Rhonda Burke Pike. He was a mechanic, retired Junction City fire and rescue worker, and widower of Wilmath Sweet Pike.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey, Herman and Virgil Pike; and a sister, Helen Lawless Survivors include a son, Hollis Pike of Waynesburg; one daughter, Shirley Wade of Waynesburg; one brother. Clarence Pike of Crab Orchard; a sister. Faye Hodge of Waynesburg; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Reynolds, 82, of 13275 U.S. Hwy. 27 South, Waynesburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Eubank, she was born May 22, 1919 to the late Jackson S.

and Eva Mae Young Wesley. She was a 1937 graduate of Eubank High School and a member of the Waynesburg Church of Christ. She was known for her quilts and afghans and enjoyed her flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Mercer Reynolds; sons, Ricky and Byron Edison Reynolds; brothers, Homer, Curtis, Edward, and Denney Wesley; sisters, Edith Horton, Lela Wesley and Martha Ann Wesley; and two infants. Survivors include sons, Byron Dean Reynolds of Durham, and Lincoln County Health Department conducts inspections The Lincoln County Health Department conducts at least two inspections a year on food service establishments and retail food stores in Lincoln County.

These inspections focus on food protection during prepartion and storage, food temperatures, cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and utensils, control, storage and use of toxic materials, and overall sanitation. Violations carry a weight of 1-5 points depending on the seriousness of the violation. Items marked 4 or 5 points are considered critical and must be corrected within ten days. Critical violations are noted by an asterisk after the establishment's score. Some facilities are a combination food market and receive two scores.

The first is for the food service and the second is for the retail. Those with scores of 85-100, with no critical violations, are considered in compliance with Kentucky's Food Establishment Act and State Retail Food Code. Those with a score of 70-84 and with no critical violations must be reinspected in 30 days. Establishments with a score of 60-69 may request a hearing to explain why they should remain open, and those with a score of 59 or less are immediately closed. An establishment must also cease operation i if conditions exist which pose an immediate threat to public health.

Any establishment whose permit has been suspended can make application for a reinspection for the purpose of permit reinstatement. If the reinspection reveals that the conditions causing suspension of the permit have been corrected, the permit. will be reinstated.
